MANAGEMENT BIOGRAPHIES
Paul I. Gulden, Jr.
Paul Gulden has been Division Head and Chief Investment
Officer of the Capital Management Division since 1977.
Formerly, he was a General Partner and Senior Portfolio
Manager of McMullen & Hard and an investment specialist
for the Bank of New York. He graduated from the
University of Virginia and later studied at the N.Y.U.
Graduate School of Business.
Madelaine L. Reese
Madelaine Reese has been a Senior Vice President and Senior
Portfolio Manager since 1994. She previously worked for a
Chicago-based advisory firm, Roberts, Loucks & Co., as a
financial analyst for Amoco, and for a financial planning
firm and a research and trading company. She is a Certified
Financial Planner and holds a bachelors degree from the
University of Illinois at Chicago and an M.B.A. from the
Loyola Graduate School of Business.
Samuel G. Samman
Sam Samman joined the firm in 1998 as a Senior Vice President
and Senior Portfolio Manager. From 1986 until 1998, he was a
Senior Portfolio manager and later President of Dominick and
Dominick Advisors, having joined the parent organization as a
security analyst in 1972 and served as its Director of Research
from 1974 until 1986. Mr. Samman received a B.S. in Economics
from Wagner College and an M.B.A. in Finance from N.Y.U.
Charles R. Thompson
Charlie Thompson has been Senior Vice President and Senior Portfolio
Manager since 1995 when he merged his own money management company,
Cobalt Asset Management with H.G. Wellington. He previously spent
twenty-three years as a General Partner of Tucker Anthony, having begun
his career with Irving Trust Company and White Weld. Mr. Thompson is a
graduate of Washington & Lee University.
